Harold VerBryck Obituary

Harold L. VerBryck, 85, of Galveston, Indiana went to be with Jesus on Sunday afternoon September 15, 2019 while at Wellbrooke in Kokomo. Harold was born to Norris and Florence VerBryck on February 25, 1934.  He married Ellen J. Lees on June 27, 1954.  He retired from Delphi Electronics in 1997.

Harold was a member of Galveston First Baptist Church and served as a deacon and trustee.  He was a man of God who loved the Lord and dedicated his life to helping others.  He touched the lives of many and never missed the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with others which was demonstrated in his role as a boy scout leader, mason, and the countless hours he spent building the church’s current sanctuary. He also enjoyed farming and gardening.

Surviving family include his wife Ellen J. VerBryck, children, Allen (Vera) VerBryck, Jeff (Lori) VerBryck and Theresa (Tony) Dirker.  Surviving grandchildren are Tyler VerBryck, Matthew VerBryck, Ryan Dirker, Amanda Richardson, Aaron (Morgan) Richardson, Michael (Samantha) VerBryck and Christopher Dirker. Surviving great grandchildren include, Jennifer Schoentrup, Sammy Schoentrup, MaKenzie VerBryck, Adalyne VerBryck, Zavier Larmer, Mia Grace Larmer, Lalia Larmer, Sophia, Kamon and Carter VerBryck. Surviving siblings include, sister, Carlis (Jim) McCauley, sister-in-law, Becky VerBryck, brother-in-law, John Miller and sister Mary Longfellow. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughters, April VerBryck and Terina Schoentrup, brother, Howard VerBryck, sister, Margaret Miller and brother-in-law, Marion Longfellow.

Visitation will be held from 2 – 7 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Galveston First Baptist Church, 207 S. Sycamore Street in Galveston. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday also at Galveston First Baptist Church with Pastor Sean Cooper and his grandson Matthew VerBryck officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Galveston First Bapitst Church in Harold's honor. Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery.  Murray Weaver Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
