Mary Olive Delight (Ringer) Silvers, 93, of Kokomo, passed away early Saturday morning, May 9, 2026, at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport. She was born December 31, 1932, in Marion, Indiana to William Henry and Beatrice Delight (Sanders) Ringer. She married Jack E. Silvers on June 11, 1949.
Mary Olive retired from Delco Electronics in Kokomo. She worked at plant 8 and the Fab 3 facility for over 30 years. She enjoyed her family and crafting with her hands. She especially enjoyed crochet, knitting and painting. She was a very gifted seamstress and made several school costumes, special dance outfits and wedding dresses. Mary Olive was always up for family gatherings, parties and line dances.
Mary Olive Delight is survived by her five children, Richard Joseph (Penny) Silvers, William Henry (Lisa) Silvers, Stella Marie (Gary) Darland, David Russel (Judy) Silvers, and Victoria Jean (David) Hardin. Her grandchildren include, Brian Silvers, Mary (Mike) Cook, Kevin (Kelly) Silvers, Randy (Donna) Silvers, Mark Silvers, Rebecca (Tracey) Fry, Julie (Abraham) Martinez, Jim (Erika) Darland, Kristina (Jason) Darland, Jennifer (Mike) Haynes and Kimberly (Matt) Lawler. She is also survived by 35 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren and counting. She has 1 sister-in-law surviving, Wanda C. (Fields) Ringer and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Willam Henry and Beatrice Delight (Sanders) Ringer, her paternal grandparents, Houston Henry Ringer and Anna Belle Catherine Owens; her maternal grandparents, Irvin Sanders and Olive Agnes Ruble, and another mother, Laura Belle Miller Ringer, former husband Jack Silvers and companion William Howe, siblings, Fredrick Eugene (Helen) Ringer, Kenneth Henry (Leatrice) Ringer, Carol Ann Adams, Joseph Allen Ringer and another brother, Theodore “Ted” Turner.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Galveston First Baptist Church, 207 S. Sycamore Street, Galveston, Indiana. 46932 with Pastor Sean Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Galveston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Galveston First Baptist Church or the Kokomo Senior Center in Mary’s memory.
